Islamabad, Sep 14 (IANS) Twenty-seven more dengue fever cases were reported in Pakistan’s port city of Karachi Saturday, raising the total to 1,107 this year, Geo News reported.
Of them 1,107 were detected in Karachi alone and 63 in the rest of the province, said M. Shakeel Aamir Mullick, a health official, adding 27 new cases were reported in Karachi Saturday alone.
He also said 11 dengue patients died in Karachi this year, adding 41 dengue patients were still admitted to different hospitals of the Sindh, while 12 patients were discharged from hospitals after treatment in the city.
Dengue fever, a disease transmitted by a mosquito bite, is an infectious tropical disease caused by the dengue virus.
